Cydney is a transgender, nonbinary 29-year-old Isese L'agba practitioner. Cydney considers Isese L'agba to be the medicine that healed their relationship with themselves, and restored their natural curiosity for their future. As a black genderqueer person, Isese L'agba was able to give Cydney guidance on their purpose on earth, providing a sense of protection and belonging to them.

Cydney's advice to those who are interested in practicing ATRs is to be open and honest with themselves; it takes courage and commitment, but those are needed in order to reap the benefits these practices. They also advise beginning practitioners to focus on the inner work as well as the work that must be done for your deities. They remind us, "Without the inner work, you're only going to get a fraction of your blessings, and you risk sabotaging those blessings if you don't have iwa pele, good character, to hold on to and maintain them."
